New two-speed bridge crane for metal plastic window plant

The team of «Kyiv Crane Machinery Plant LLC» successfully completed the manufacture and installation of an electric two-speed bridge crane model KMO-5.0-21.45-7.0-A5, intended for operation in the warehouse of profiles of a large Ukrainian plant for the production of plastic windows.

Having carefully studied the Customer’s technical assignment, the «Kyiv Crane Machinery Plant LLC» designers suggested equipping the new bridge crane with low-speed movement mechanisms for the most accurate load positioning. In addition, it was also proposed to use the radio control system along with the traditional pendant remote control, which allows the operator to control the crane without any problems, despite the obstacles in the form of shelves with products.

Thanks to the existing radio control system, the crane operator can bypass obstacles without interrupting the process of loading and unloading. As a result, he does not need to move always behind the lifting hoist. Considering that in some places of the warehouse of metal-plastic profiles there is insufficient illumination, the crane machine is also equipped with powerful LED lighting, which allows a good view of the area in the work zone.

Bridge crane tests

Main technical characteristics of the bridge crane:

• lifting capacity - 5 tons;
• lifting height - 7.00 m;
• crane span - 21.45 m;
• lifting / lowering speed - 4 / 1.3 m / min;
• trolley traveling speed - 20/5 m / min;
• crane moving speed - 40/10 m / min;
• the electrical power supply to the crane is a flexible cable on a rigid profile such as Festoon;
• the operating mode group according to ISO or GOST is A5 (medium).

The new bridge crane is equipped with a electric wire rope hoist MT, end beams, motor-reducers for moving and lifting production of the Bulgarian company Podem. The span bridge is a welded structure box girder. For added security, the package also includes:

• limit switches for hoist and crane movement;
• thermal protection of the lift engine;
• phase control relay;
• light and sound signaling of the crane stroke;
• load limiter.

Installation of the crane was carried out at the stage of building walls and arranging the roof of the building, which significantly simplified the implementation of these works. After installation, all necessary test tests were carried out. At the moment, a new supporting bridge crane is being successfully used in a warehouse of metal-plastic window structures.
